Suzette Scarborough
Suzette Spann Scarborough is currently the Founder & CEO of 3 businesses:
1. Envisioned Events by Suzette, LLC - a full-service Event & Wedding Planning, Design and Production business established on 6/26/2017;
2. Envisioned Travels by Suzette - a travel company established on 9/4/18 to help others travel the world and experience its beauty; and
3. Etiquette Speaks, LLC – an etiquette consulting and training business established 5/13/20 and launched on Juneteenth of 2020 to help youth and adults successfully navigate social and business settings with confidence and ease.
Suzette also created a community to support women Founders, Presidents and CEOs through “exhale moments” that celebrate them. Girl, BREATHE! was launched in October of 2021 and will travel the world, expanding this community of boss ladies.
Suzette was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY – Bed-Stuy to be exact. She is a product of the NYC public school education system and went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the prestigious School of Industrial & Labor Relations at Cornell University. Suzette has a corporate career that spans 30 years. She has held a variety of roles in Human Resources and Legal for major brands like AIG, MasterCard, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Lehman Brothers (post 2 bankruptcy) and American Express. Suzette also completed a Paralegal Certification program at Queens College to complement her legal experience and continues to maintain her license as a Notary Public.
Suzette completed her graduated studies at New York Theological Seminary, obtaining a Master of Divinity as part of her educational preparation for the ministry. She was ordained and Elder of the church and serves a member of First Baptist Church of Crown Heights in Brooklyn.
Suzette understands and values service and connecting in community and has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for almost 29 years. She is currently serving as the Second Vice President of the Brooklyn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has also chaired the Jabberwock program and chairs the Scholarship Committee.
During the pandemic of 2020, she exercised her leadership in business by becoming a Founding Member of the National Society of Black Wedding & Event Professionals. She has also Co-Founded an initiative towards diversity and inclusion in action, within the wedding and event industry with the Gowanus Hospitality Group.
Suzette is the proud mother of a daughter creating her own success as a 2020 graduate of RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), and has begun her career in Fashion Design with an accessory company in New York City.
Suzette is a celebrator of life, a funny story teller, a lover of old school hip 3 hop and R&B music and a creative wonder. Her guilty pleasure is reality TV shows, which she binge watches when she has rare moments of down time (please don’t judge her). Suzette continues to be inspired by her entrepreneurial ventures and those she works with. She loves all things beautiful and enjoys creating “Exceptional Events & Experiences” with unique twists. With Suzette, nothing is basic. “God ideas” come to her and she excitedly adds that flavor and unexpected element of surprise to everything she does. Suzette is a calculated risk taker and is not afraid to try something new, innovative and outside of the box. Outside of the lines is where trailblazers create.
Suzette says that she’s “just a girl who decided to go for it” because life is too short. She wants to encourage others to leap towards their dreams because dreams do come true -- if you believe.
